In other pint-sized fashion news, Stella McCartney’s family is rapidly expanding! Not only did the British designer give birth to her fourth human baby on November 29th, but she also recently launched her first children’s ready-to-wear collection, after designing for two seasons for GapKids. Impressive timing, Stella, and erm, we can’t help but feel a little jealous of the little McCartneys…
Bright yellow wellies, reefer jackets and mini officer’s coats, the Stella McCartney Kids collection was guided by the navigational stars! We can distinguish her essential womenswear elements, however, with the emphasis on knits, colour-blocking, and soft shapes.
The happy mother is in good company, with Gucci’s Children’s Collection, and Little Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs. Speaking of Gucci, let’s take a closer look…
Now available in boutiques, the Gucci Children’s Collection is split into lines for ages 0-2 and 2-8 years old. But there’s more than just clothes: there will be sunglasses, scarves and blankets, all with the famous interlocking Gs logo. Jennifer Lopez and her twins are the faces of the Mert & Marcus-lensed campaign; an adorable two years old, little Max and Emme frolic with their mother on the beaches of Malibu, California. Even better, all proceeds will be donated to UNICEF’s Schools for Africa and the Maribel Foundation, created by the singer and her sister.
