Matthew Williamson and…Bulgari?
That’s right, the celebrated Brit designer was tapped by the famed Italian jeweller to create a line of handbags and evening bags as fabulous as the jewellery! With facet-like shapes and textured leather, the bags were clearly inspired by precious stones, however, their bright, happy colours and clean shapes leave no question as to who the designer was! Turns out it was a perfect pairing…

Williamson’s signature kaleidoscope patterns read as facets of precious stones, in the textured leathers and printed silks. Naturally, there are some real stones, with some of the bags featuring jewelled closures…

Hmm, looking at his recent collections, we wonder if he wasn’t a little inspired by working with Bulgari…is it a faux pas to match your bag to your dress?

Geometric forms are a signature of this quintessentially Italian high jeweller, and this is their first designer collaboration, having used design teams before. We’ll say it was a success!
