REcreative, the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project, was launched last year in partnership with five prestigious London galleries:  the South London Gallery, the Hayward Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts, Tate Britain and the Whitechapel Gallery. The initiative is slated to run for three years and aims to expose young Londoners to contemporary art, particularly those who might not otherwise have had the opportunity.

Perusing the site, we were taken by Snezana Gvozdenovic‘s project ‘Space’ with icons such as the Louvre (below) reimagined and redesigned…

We also loved the witty ‘Wikipedia’ by Pazza Pennello

Inspiration Dior at the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, through July 24

The French couturier’s grand and exuberant creations are right at home in the sumptuous museum housing Moscow’s largest collection of European art in a wide-ranging, sprawling show featuring video, photographs (including Richard Avedon’s famed “Dovima With Elephants”), contemporary art installations, fashion drawings, an exhibit room exploring Dior’s perfumes and unique flacons and more that makes for a fitting tribute to the House of Dior’s maximalist aesthetic.

The show includes 120 couture dresses and 60 artworks by Toulouse-Lautrec, Pierre Bonnard, Man Ray, Gustav Klimt, Malevich and Dior favourite Cezanne, among others that inspired and influenced the celebrated designer.

In what seems to the be a curatorial trend nowadays, fashion is linked with art and pieces from disparate periods and styles are exhibited side by side, allowing the spectator the opportunity to trace firsthand the creative process.
